Rugby legend Rob Kearney partners with CBD skincare brand Poko

With celebrities worldwide singing the praises of the potential benefits of CBD, it’s only natural for Ireland’s own rugby hero Rob Kearney to see the potential of CBD and get in on the action. Kearney has just signed a two-year investment and partnership deal with pioneering Irish skincare brand Poko, and will not only act as a brand ambassador, but also become a shareholder in the Poko group.

Rob Kearney: The man, the myth, the legend

Besides being Ireland’s most decorated rugby player, Kearney has a whole list of accomplishments under his belt, including:

  • Two tours with the British Lions
  • 4 Six Nations titles
  • 4 European Cups
  • 6 Pro14 titles

However, he is much more than just a brilliant rugby player. Kearney is also a successful entrepreneur. He has been involved in various industries as an executive and non-executive director and is a shareholder in numerous businesses. He is also an experienced leader, leading many past ventures, including acting as chair of the Irish Rugby Players Association.

Learning about the benefits of CBD and its potential for growth in the market inspired the rugby legend to collaborate with Poko. He specifically chose Poko as he believes the brand shares the same beliefs and values. “I chose to work with Poko as they share many of the same values I do. Their passion and drive to bring skincare solutions to everyone is something I really felt I could stand behind,” said Kearney.

Rob Kearney always has his finger on the pulse. This is why it comes as no surprise that he has taken an interest in a CBD skincare company. According to Grand View Research, the cosmetic CBD market is expected to hit $1.7 billion by 2025. And with more research being done on the benefits of CBD, it is likely to rise even higher. Clearly, CBD skincare and cosmetics is a lucrative industry – and is here to stay. This proves just what a shrewd businessman Kearney is.

Poko: A revolutionary skincare brand

Poko is a vegan, cruelty-free brand that has taken the skincare industry by storm. The brand uses natural ingredients of the highest quality, including premium CBD, to help people achieve the best skin possible. The brand boasts a range of products to help people with various skin conditions. From acne to eczema or psoriasis, there is a Poko product for it.

Since its inception, Poko has been raking in awards, their Correcting Eye Cream won silver and green at The Beauty Bible Awards and their Luxury Facial Oil won Best CBD Oil at Your Healthy Living Awards. Poko’s Soothing Serum is also shortlisted at The Beauty Awards with ASOS under the Super Serum category.

Poko aims to expand the brand’s retail presence in the UK and Ireland, while simultaneously developing new ground-breaking products. The co-founder of Poko, Justine O’Hanlon, is excited with the prospect of working with someone as innovative and successful as Rob Kearney. “I’m very inspired by Rob’s career and to see the enthusiasm he has shown for our brand,” said O’Hanlon.

“He’s an incredible entrepreneur, and we’re really excited to work on his ideas and bring some innovative new products to our range. We’ve always had a focus on providing skincare for everyone, and creating a brand like Poko allows us to reach male and female audiences. Having Rob onside to promote skin health is so important for us, and we can’t wait to see what the next two years will hold for us.”

CBD in Skincare

Kearney has big plans for the collaboration, and plans on promoting the partnership across various channels, such as radio, print, social media and TV. He wants to inform the public that Poko is a unisex brand with unique products that benefit both genders.

Furthermore, Kearney wants to break the stigma that skincare is just for women. He knows how important it is for men to look after their skin. “The stigma around male skincare is an area I really feel needs to be highlighted and education needs to improve.”

Poko products are available in many places, in-store and online. It is also now available at Arnotts for their Christmas market. To learn more about Poko, go to www.pokocbd.co.uk.
