Is CBD legal to ship in the UK?

The cannabis products industry has blown up into a multi-billion pound industry in recent years and looks like it has no intention of slowing down. These questions not only weigh heavy in the minds of consumers but also producers, distributors, and retailers of such products who could face serious consequences if in breach of any legislation. CBD is now found in retailers on the high street, in pharmacies, and health and supplement stores as well as the most popular place for CBD to be purchased within the UK – online. Is it legal to send CBD in the mail in the UK?

Yes, it is 100% legal to send and receive CBD products in the mail within the UK as long as the products comply with the laws and regulations of the country in which the goods are being delivered, as per the delivery companies own terms & conditions. Therefore, as long as the CBD products are complying with UK law, then they are legal to be transported within the postal system.

The UK law states that CBD products within the UK must be “THC free”, meaning they must contain less than 0.2% THC and are only marketed as a food supplement used to maintain a healthy lifestyle and not for any specific medical purpose. The products must also be processed in some way from the buds, such as being extracted into the oil. Therefore, the sale of unprocessed CBD buds within the UK is considered illegal regardless of the THC content.

If the CBD product being purchased complies with the above regulations, which the majority of online distributors (not all) should be aware of, then the CBD oil you are buying will be fine to ship.

Can CBD oil be shipped internationally from the UK?

The UK has seen an almost exponential rise in the number of online CBD oil shops within its borders. This has caused an increase in the status of such shops and therefore an interest in some CBD products that are produced in the UK from countries abroad.
