Despite stating that he was giving up cannabis earlier this year, Ed Sheeran has just launched a weed-infused beer in his London Pub.
The drink, called ‘Cannabis Bier’, will be on offer at the 28-year-old singer’s Notting Hill pub Bertie Blossoms.
The four-time Grammy Award winner opened the pub after announcing an 18-month hiatus from the music industry. Curious customers can pick up a bottle of the cannabis-infused beer for £5.20. The move may come as a surprise to fans of Sheeran, who expressed that he had given up smoking cannabis earlier this year.
“I've stopped smoking weed,” stated the singer. “I found myself just sitting at home watching films. I only ever create [when I'm] sober — I like to be alert.”
The Shape Of You singer has been open about cannabis use in the past, even going so far as to pen a song about his love for the herb. In 2015, Sheeran surprised fans at shows with the track Sweet Mary Jane, singing “I woke up early looking out my window at the Amsterdam sky / Oh baby I was high last night”.
