After very publicly smoking cannabis flower on the Joe Rogan podcast, Elon Musk issued an apology to his Space X staff saying it was ‘not wise’.
Space X staff are told to maintain their facilities as a drug-free workplace.
In the apology email obtained by the Washington Post, Musk instructed his staff to “not use or possess any controlled substance while in the workplace, and also may not be under the influence of legal or illegal drugs while at work.”
As cannabis edges closer and closer to USA legalisation, many celebrities are coming forth with their own positive cannabis stories. Most of these stories raise the profile of the celebrity positively. That was not Musk’s experience.
While appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast in September of last year Musk smoked cannabis. After that shares in Tesla fell by more than 6% and the company engaged in a full-scale safety and compliance review which cost $5 million by NASA.
Officials for Space X and NASA state that though it was inconvenient, it has been helpful. SpaceX President and COO, Gwynne Shotwell said, “Results came back very positive. I can tell you, it has gone very well. Not that we haven’t learned things, but it’s gone very well.”

Oh wow did you hear about Elon Musk and Grime’s baby name? Apparently they named their son X Æ A-12! That’s really strange name. From what I read though, they changed it to X Æ A xii. What the heck!? It’s just the same but with Roman numerals.
