The Blink-182 drummer who launched his own CBD brand ‘Barker Wellness’ earlier this year has now released vegan CBD tinctures for pets. Dog and cat owners can now choose from tuna or beef flavoured tinctures. They come in two different strengths – 250 mg or 500 mg.
Travis decided to launch the pet CBD line as he has been using CBD for years. Furthermore, as a dad to several dogs, he wanted to create products that could benefit their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
The pet line products contain no THC, preservatives, GMOs, or artificial flavours. They boast omega fatty acids, which research has claimed can improve skin and coat conditions all the while enhancing hormone and heart health.
The four tinctures available contain broad-spectrum hemp oil extract, MCT oil extracted from coconuts, and natural vegan-friendly flavourings. The brand hopes the tinctures can assist pets in relieving stress, aches, and pains, and enhancing their mood as well as promoting better sleep.
Barker Wellness has assured the public that although the tinctures are for pets, they are made to the same high standards as tinctures for humans. Following a vegan diet since 2008 for health reasons, it was very important for Barker Wellness to ensure all products they sold were vegan-friendly and not tested on animals. It was also vital to him that the products were all-natural and ethically made.
Besides health reasons, animal welfare is also incredibly important to Travis Barker. In 2017, he partnered with People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for their Never Be Silent Campaign. CBD for pets
Many dogs suffer from anxiety be it separation anxiety or whether it is triggered by something specifically. In 2019, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) claimed that 7 million dogs in the UK suffer from separation anxiety alone.
Anxiety for dogs can bring out certain erratic behaviours such as aggression, excessive barking, depression, panting, pacing, and more. In addition, CBD has been said to be effective for dogs who are sensitive to certain sounds like fireworks or thunderstorms.
For this reason, many dog owners look for ways to reduce this anxiety. As a result of this, many brands have already released similar CBD products to the ones Barker Wellness sells.
Beyond anxiety, Barker Wellness has also claimed its products to be well suited to older dogs. Those who have mobility challenges or chronic issues such as arthritis. There is not a huge amount of research regarding whether it is advisable to give dogs CBD. Although there is research available to suggest CBD can help humans with various health concerns. These include reducing stress, get better sleep, and easing aches and pains.
Therefore, CBD could possibly help animals but more research is needed. It is uncertain whether it is okay to give dogs CBD as some veterinarians and pet shops advise it while others do not. If you do decide to give your dog CBD, a THC-free option may be best.

It was in February of 2021 that the vegan drummer started his own cruelty-free, CBD wellness brand Barker Wellness.

The purpose of his CBD products is to promote body and mind wellness. Before launching the brand, he lived a hectic lifestyle, touring with his remaining bandmates in Blink-182. He saw their benefits more or less straight away and deemed them to be key to his recovery. It was then that he decided to create his own formulas and share them with others.
